What is Air Tightness Testing?
Air Tightness Testing is the process to test the amount of air that is lost by a building.
As of April 2007, it is now a legal requirement that all new buildings conduct and pass an Air Tightness Test to satisfy the requirements of Part L1A and L2A building regulations. The regulations have been put in place to reduce CO2 emissions, with the main focus being on reducing the amount of air leakage through the fabric of the new property.
How is the Air Tightness Test carried out?
Upon your enquiry, a fully qualified ATTMA (Air Tightness Testing Measurement Association) engineer from Yorkshire Air Testing will contact you to discuss the process in detail and arrange a date to visit the site and conduct the test.
Ideally Air Tightness Testing is carried out during the final stages of construction when the structure is completed and utilities such as water and electricity are connected.
